‍Dr. ‍Roberta Da ‍Re has extensive experience successfully treating a wide variety of patients and enjoys challenging cases. She graduated ‍Summa ‍Cum ‍Laude, with Clinic Honours from ‍the ‍Canadian ‍Memorial ‍Chiropractic ‍College ‍(CMCC) in 1996. That standard for excellence followed her to achieve comprehensive training in a wide variety of areas including rehabilitation, and exercise therapy. She has extended her achievements beyond chiropractic, also obtaining a certificate of Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University. Dr. Da Re uses evidence-based treatments combining a variety of techniques to ‍create ‍effective ‍and customized treatment ‍strategies ‍for ‍her ‍patients.  ‍

‍Roberta ‍has ‍received several ‍awards ‍including ‍the ‍Chiropractic ‍Foundation ‍for ‍Spinal ‍Research ‍Award ‍for ‍her ‍work ‍on ‍the ‍physical ‍rehabilitation ‍of ‍low ‍back ‍pain. She also regularly ‍evaluates ‍the ‍abilities ‍of ‍future ‍chiropractors, ‍acting ‍as ‍an ‍examiner ‍for ‍the ‍Canadian ‍Chiropractic ‍Examining ‍Board’s ‍licensing ‍examinations.

Upon ‍graduation ‍she ‍moved ‍to ‍Italy ‍where ‍she ‍operated ‍her ‍own ‍clinic ‍for ‍8 ‍years ‍before ‍returning ‍to ‍practice ‍in ‍Canada. Working ‍close ‍to ‍the ‍Italian ‍Alps ‍afforded ‍her ‍the ‍opportunity ‍to ‍merge her own love of outdoor sports with chiropractic. She has worked with ‍patients ‍to recover from a wide ‍variety ‍of ‍problems from chronic pain to sports ‍related injuries and over the years she has become well known for treating challenging musculoskeletal cases, particularly hand and upper limb injuries where other treatments have been unsuccessful. Dr. Doris Mertins founded Downtown Core Chiropractic Centre (formerly First Canadian Chiropractic Centre) in 1994.

Doris received her Bachelor of Science degree (Biology) from the University of Western Ontario and went on to graduate from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in 1992. In 1999, she completed a Fellowship in Chiropractic Sports Sciences.

Her interest in acupuncture began with studies in Toronto in 1996 and over the years has taken her as far as China and Sri Lanka to further her skills. She has completed the Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program through McMaster University. Using neurofunctional acupuncture, she succeeds in developing effective strategies tailored to the specific needs of her individual patients.

Perpetually curious and committed to staying current with best practices and emerging trends, Doris upgrades her knowledge and skills on an ongoing basis. As a mother, she experienced first-hand the benefits of both pre- and post-natal chiropractic and acupuncture care. Over 30 years in a physically demanding profession have also reinforced the value of her own preventative care and the role it plays in aging healthy.

Whether dealing with white collar stress or athletic injuries, acute pain or complex persistent pain, Doris focuses on delivering superior care by creating customized treatment plans. She leverages the benefits of gentle manipulation, soft tissue therapy, medical acupuncture and focused exercise to optimize her patients’ health and performance.

She is an assessor for the Schroeder Pain Assessment and Rehabilitation Research Centre (SPARC) at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute (UHN). In the past, Doris has also taught at CMCC as a small group leader helping third year students improve their clinical skills.

She is one of those crazy commuters who rides her bike to work year-round, does her core exercises (most days!) and will remain forever inspired by the resiliency of the human body and nervous system.

Dr. Sinclair has practiced at Downtown Core Chiropractic Centre since 1997, moving from First Canadian Place to its new space in Royal Bank Plaza in 2012 and to the TD Centre in 2020.

Darcie graduated in 1996 from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto after earning an honours degree from Queen’s University in the Life Sciences program.

Following an initial course of acupuncture study in Sri Lanka in 1994, she has furthered her study of acupuncture at both McMaster University in the Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program and at programs offered through CMCC and elsewhere. Darcie’s unique combination of acupuncture training allows her to combine the most effective components of traditional acupuncture with a scientific, evidence-based approach, which she has found maximizes the effect of treatment for her patients.

In conjunction with acupuncture and gentle joint manipulation, Darcie uses a wide range of soft tissue techniques to help her patients achieve their health and functional goals. While many of her patients work in an office environment and have high stress jobs, she also treats many weekend, amateur and elite athletes. She believes in creating a customized treatment plan for each individual with a focus on getting the patient back to what they want to do as soon as possible.

Darcie believes that ongoing education, both as an educator and a student, is essential to providing excellent care to her patients. She is constantly striving to find new ways to help patients optimize their health and wellbeing.

Combining her long time love of animals, with her years of chiropractic experience, Darcie is also a certified animal chiropractor helping dogs and nice cats with their movement and functional issues. Darcie completed an intensive training program at the Veterinary Chiropractic Learning Centre and is also a member of the College of Animal Chiropractors, which strives to ensure that its members provide the highest quality of care to our furry friends.
